Church Architecture

I have had a great opportunity to see some great churches the last few days. Theology aside, I think it is good for us to look to the past and see what and why things were built. What would cause a man like Michelangelo to lie flat on his back for four years painting our story? How would Raphael have come up with the ideas for frescoes that jump off the wall? Did Berninni really think the altar was worthy of celebrating the sacraments on?

Amazing men with amazing vision to capture the story of the church. I encourage us to look to them, to look through them to Christ and then to search inside ourselves for our contribution to the ages. It is our story and it counts. We are the portrayers now. Blessings
