Showing up

I went to visit a man in hospital today. Did not stay long. Sometimes showing up is what matters. Let me re-frame that. Most of the time, showing up is what matters. Just being with somebody, even if you do not have alot to say, matters. Maybe that is why people like day time soap operas. Sometimes people call on the phone in a day time soap, but often, on a day time soap, they show up to talk.

There is some thing about face to face and just being there. Jesus says, He is our ever "presence". He is always "showing up" That is good for us to be reminded of. Our part may be to engage Him in conversation a bit, or maybe even acknowledge His presence. He may not say much, but being with us may say it all. Blessings
