Why was I thinking of Schindler?
Ever trace back in your mind how you got to the thought you are thinking? I am thinking of an ice cream cone lets say, right before that I was thinking of a friend I had who liked that type of ice cream and before that I was looking at a street in Mapquest that had a name similar to his girlfriend's. Weird links. Odd and amazing how the brain works. I am sure there is a better example than that. Here is one I had yesterday.
I was doing some work on a prayer experience we are putting together for August of this year. When I got to the part on confession, I was thinking we should confess that we could do more. More for the kingdom, not to earn God's love. That got me thinking about sins of omission and how little we confess them. That got me thinking of the movie Schindler's List. A must see movie. In one of the last scenes Schindler realizes he could have sold more, or spent his money more wisely and he would have saved more Jews. He weeps uncontrollably.
The Holy Spirit saves and He uses us. We could save more.
Jesus meets the needs of the broken hearted. We could meet more needs.
God the Father creates. We could be more creative.
We can do more kingdom....and less world.
