Prison Break

I know it is a hit show, but I can not watch it. I have Lost. Having said that, Lost is on hiatus until February, so I may take a look at Prison Break. Any feedback on the worthiness of this idea would be appreciated. I hear that it is about men who broke out of prison. (Yes, I can be Captain Obvious!)

Anyway, Paul and Silas would not be stars on the show, from what I gather about it. In Acts 16 they are happily singing away after being stripped and flogged when the doors fly open and their chains fall off. If they were in Prison Break they would be off and running. Not so. They stay and in fact prevent a suicide. Then they share the good news and see the jailer's "chains fall off and door fly open" as he is set free. That is the way it happens. Wesley said it well:

"Long my imprisoned sprit lay,
fast bound in sin and nature's night;
thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
my chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee"

And we are called to be people who stay and stand and share what has happened to us. We have been freed and we live in a world of prisoners; some of whom are tough guards. So I am going to check my heart this week to make sure I stay and engage, even when I want to run. I get the sense that the "I rose, went forth and followed thee" would be right back into where the prisoners are. Blessings
