Pilgrim's Rucksack
Church, you worshipped well today. Those of you who came to worship Him did just that. We lamented, we watched the sovereignty of God in pictures, we sang, we prayed, we appreciated others. We listened and we sang some more. A beautiful day for us and for the King.
Tomorrow is Monday. I wonder what it will look like for you? My gym bag is packed. I am ready to go and face the day, attack the week and "make it happen!"
Maybe some of you have a bag packed too. Or a lunch sack. Or a suitcase if you travel. I want to encourage you to take another bag with you. The week may not go quite how you plan it will. You may need to lament a bit, sing a bit, be reminded of the sovereignty of God, reflect on what you heard. All of that can and will be helpful to your soul as you enter in to the week.
So take the bag I call the "pilgrim's rucksack" with you. It is carried by those who are pilgrims. Those who know that life is a journey and who know they will need lament and music and prayer and knowledge of the loving sovereignty of the Father.
About lunch time you will get hungry. That is what your lunch sack is for. About "sometime" you will need what only He can give. He gives it gladly to pilgrims like you and me.
And next weekend we will do it again. We will come together to worship Him as a a bunch of pilgrims a bit further along on the journey. Blessings
