Isaiah

I love this book. I have been spending some extra time in it as I have been preparing for Advent. He says things like, "For to us a child is born" and "See I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone" Stones and babies being born. Simple "things" with eternal impact.

I am so appreciative that we have the word of God and that it has been translated and that men and women have gone before us to study it. Most of all I am glad that Jesus came and fulfilled the prophecies and made sense of it all. Isaiah is just so clear when you read it in light of the fact that Jesus came. The Messiah, the child, the stone.

The better news is there is more to come. He will come again in glory. "He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing it and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this"

The zeal of the Lord. That is a pretty confident prophecy. I pray we live fully believing it.
