Lost Again
Well, by now most know it is the show I do watch faithfully. "Lost." For non watchers my comments should still make some sense. For watchers, I may get some opinions. Last night one of the "others" took a character named Sawyer to the top of a cliff and showed him that the island he was currently on was not the island he had crash landed on. That island was some distance away.
I thought about how we are not on our island either. Because we are not, things are not what we would consider "normal." It is not normal for people to deceive, harbor resentment, hurt others or lie. In the real world that does not happen. It only happens on this island we find ourselves on.
After seeing the island, Sawyer was taken back to his prison. No freedom. The good news for us is that the King has come and has set us free. We can live as free men and women even in the midst of this island. "It was for freedom that Christ set you free" So we can walk in it and from time to time think of the island that is a distance away as we worship the one who came to redeem us.
