A Bad Day
What do you do when the day just does not go like you planned? We went to a High School football game tonight. Chamblee vs Dunwoody. Chamblee is ranked #2 in the state and our daughter goes there. Our middle daughter went to Dunwoody and it was homecoming for her. So both were there.
Well, Chamblee lost (that was not foreseen). They were devastated. As much as I wanted to say, "O well one of my daughters won", I was moved by what happened after the game. The Chamblee fans stayed in the stands and the team walked right up the stands and out through the front of the stadium. There was this "parting and applauding of the crowd" as they walked right out. They could have gone another way. They could have gone around the stadium to avoid the crowd. They could have waited for the crowd to disperse. But they did not. That is class and humility.
Maybe you had a bad day or week. I encourage you to come to church this weekend and walk right down the center aisle of the sanctuary. If you see me come on up and I will give you a hug. Remember; we are family. The family of God and we stick together when one of us has a bad day. Together we will go see Our Father.
