Space Mountain

I would think that many have heard of Space Mountain. When I was much younger it was one of the ultimate rides at DisneyWorld. Here is the gist: You stand in a long line and enter the mountain. Then you get in a little car/shuttle and off you go.......into the pitch black darkness. And it is scary. Partially because you can see, but just a tiny bit. A few tiny lights whiz past you at opportune moments and you can just about make out the fact that you are going to go DOWN.....or AROUND...or UP. But there is not enough light to give you a sense that you know what is next.

As I was on it I was thinking this is just like the Christian walk. I have read all the stuff on, "He only gives you enough light to see the next step" etc. What gripped me today was that life really is racing by. And we will NOT see alot and we will/are forced to just hang on and hang in and believe. In any case as the disciples queried, "Who else do we have to turn to?" The key is learning to rest in the car/shuttle that is the gospel of Jesus. We worship well when we sit well....and when we lean as we feel the turn coming on.
