Live Art!

My good friend Jeff is actively involved with a group that is seeking to bring some redemptive perspective to the artistic world. Hard going but worth the go. What could be harder then being a starving artist? Being a Christian starving artist because the church tends to support the arts even less then the world. The "saving grace" is that he and his friends do it for the glory of God and enjoy their poverty, being rich in Him. Here is some info from Live Art:

"The mission of Live Art is to inspire people to accept who God has intended us to be and use our unique gifts in service to others. Live Art is currently involved in hosting events and mentoring/recording musical artists. The monthly events are held at The Timothy Michael Gallery in Roswell. The events feature local and national artists and leaders of service oriented organizations to raise awareness to the needs of the local community and communities abroad.

Live Art has found that there is a beauty in self-expression, whether it comes from an artist or from a business leader, when there is a mutual respect and a desire to connect with one another. Live Art is also involved in mentoring and recording local singer/songwriters in preparation for the release of their first compilation CD entitled The Suburban Art Project due out in July 2007."

So why tell you? Well, I think it is very cool to see men and women pursue their God given giftedness. I wonder if you have thought lately about yours? Maybe you are an engineer, or an ambassador to a foreign country, or a businessman. Somehow, God has wired you for the world and I am sure there are other birds with the same type feathers you have. So I want to encourage you to join or start a LiveEngineers! or LiveAmbassadors! or something where you find your self doing it for your joy as you worship well.
