Young men and women

We had the opporunity to meet with some young seminarians today. It is so good to see that God keeps drawing men and women to himself and has some of them go on for further education so they can equip the next next generation. The couple we met with are soon to be finished and it is exciting to see the enthusiasm and joy they have for giving their lives away to others with what they have learned.

I think it would have been just as good if we were meeting with an MBA student, a law school student or an auto mechanic school student. In each case, people are being equipped to serve, to love, to give and to share what God has endowed them with. Christians are called to education.

The church is a diverse community that worships our God collectively through our vocations during the week, whatever they may be. On Sunday morning there are bankers, mechanics, moms and students who come together to fill in the mosaic of the kingdom in church. They are believers in the Lord. Sons and daughters. Sinners in need of a savior. Young and old. I would love for us to appreciate the beauty of that diversity this weekend as we worship Him well. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
