Adultery

Just the word has negative, life devastating emotions attached to it. Statistics are hard to come by, but the majority of people have been touched by it. A father, mother, aunt, uncle, husband, wife, son, or daughter. Somewhere in many family trees there hangs adultery.

For many others it is a friend, co-worker, or neighbor. And for some it is "common" and "expected." Hollywood glamorizes it. A new song called "Lips of an angel" has empathy for it. People are seeking love, satisfaction, affirmation of their identity and all kinds of crazy things in adultery. None of them will be found.

Easy to say, "Don't do that!" and I am sure it will be said this weekend. But we will not leave it at that because you can not stop on your own, you need a Helper. He is the One who can give you a new perspective on what satisfies.

This weekend we will sing "Satisfied." The lyrics are gripping, "Hallelujah, He has found me. The one my soul so long has craved" He is what you are craving. So now I am speaking to you. Those of you on the verge (or past it). I am begging you. It will not satisfy. What you are craving is Him. Turn, run, flee and come home. Jesus satisfies. He just found you.

So come this weekend (all of us). We are guilty too. We are often seeking what is not Christ. He is a wonderful merciful savior who loves His own. He rescues the souls of men and women. So come and be rescued. He is able!
