Water Everywhere

Facts:
1. I have fescue grass, so one seed = one blade
2. I live on a cul-de-sac where of the ten houses, five of the men are retired and they love to putter in their yards
3. I do not have a built in sprinkler system

Now, the pressure is not great from my neighbors and we do not have "lawn competitions" but, I do want to (A) please my wife and (B) make a decent showing for the Lord in terms of my grass. (I am praying there is no grass in heaven, even if I do not have to cut it, seed it etc, I think it could bring back bad memories :)

So, I had someone seed and aerate my lawn and now I have to water it. To do that I have to set the hoses out, let it run, move them, let it run; and do it again. Every day for 10 days (or so the lawn doctor says). If not, terrible things will happen like I will be responsible for the deaths of thousands of baby fescue seeds. I can not over water either or I will have drowned them. It needs to be just right.

Now to do that, I have to walk on the grass, which causes me to get my shoes muddy. Then I have to clean them. What a mess the whole thing is. BUT, I do love to see the new grass come up and the beauty of a lawn. So, facts:

1. For new seed to spring up it has to be planted and watered
2. It takes some consistent work on our part
3. It may be a bit messy (muddy)
4. We are called to be consistent and faithful

Worshipping well is hard to do consistently and when we forget or just decide not to water, there is a consequence. Thank God it is not spiritual death. It is loss of beauty. God can turn those losses or ashes into joy. Sometimes, He just sends the rain of the Holy Spirit to water us when we need it most and always, he is "underneath" and "behind" the mystery of growth. So we can pray for rain, believing He will send and we can work diligently in our muddy yards know He will grow all to His glory. Blessings
