Community

We have had a day of community. The church came together this morning to celebrate the triune God. God the Father for creating, God the Son for redeeming and God the Holy Spirit for applying the work of the redemption and massaging the truth of God's word into our heart. We celebrated what God has done, what He is doing and even, what He will do. We are so confident of His promises that we can celebrate what is yet to come. Amazing.

This afternoon we had the joy of celebrating with the Worship and Arts Community at a picnic. We played kickball and I had the pleasure of being the referee. One team was behind by five runs going into the last inning (2-7) so I changed the rules and made every run worth five points. The team that was down by five scored two and so the score going into the bottom of the last inning was 12 -7. It made it exciting, it made it come down to the wire, and it brought a great level of anticipation. It demonstrated mercy to the team that was down by five and enabled the team that was up by five to receive a "take away" with joy.

Tonight we had friends from India (lived there for 13 years) at our house. Each of our daughters had a friend over...a full house.....with joy and laughter. Community; worth being in.
