Stars
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.
-Isaiah 40:26 (NIV)
Not one of the great stars of the heavens is unaccounted for because of God's great power and mighty strength. Now if you ask me, we seems pretty unimportant compared to all of the stars in the entire universe. There's a line from a worship song I know that says, "You number the stars and call them all by name, but You love me more than any light You've made."
Randy spoke today about "unnatural peace," and its attainability only through Christ. For you are "fearfully and wonderfully made," and God loves you more than the stars themselves. If you lived like you truly believed you are loved more than the stars, how would you live?
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
-Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
You are more light to the world than those stars. As cheesy as that sounds, it's true. Christ living through you gives light to the world, if you allow Him to do so. Don't forget how much you are loved and that you have a part in God's kingdom as you start this week.
Blessings
