A Dog's Breakfast
I got up early with the dog this morning. She is just 9 weeks old and she is doing better about not peeing in her kennel at night, but boy is she ready to go in the morning. She goes quick, and races back to the house, knowing what comes next: breakfast.
We are training her to have to sit and wait while we set the food down. When we say it is ok, she can eat. And she does, gobbles it down in 60 seconds or less. You know what comes next. Out the back door, down the deck steps to poop. All very regular.
Then she is ready to run, play, fetch, nibble, bark and do other things dogs do as their "job."
I am thinking about regularity this morning. The monks used to say, "No bible, no bread." They had a sense of order to their day. Be relieved, be nourished, work.
Sounds like a good plan to me. A little worship time in the morning, a lite breakfast, relieve yourself by confessing your sin and be filled with the Spirit. Then off to work you go.
One last note. We already had to put Millie (the dog) on the leash today with her pinch collar because she was disobedient to the point of obnoxious. A good reminder. Pray the Lord would discipline and reprove you quickly if you are obnoxious today in thought, word or deed.
"We love your law O Lord, teach us Your ways!"
