An Inside Look at Our Liturgy

Some people have been asking about some of the readings we have been using in services. We don't always get them in the worship guide/bulletin like we do the lyrics to songs because...well because often we are praying and thinking about what God would have us use. Sometimes we are writing liturgy late in the week and the worship guide goes to print on Tuesday.

We often use scripture or a creed, but sometimes we write our own. Whatever God might be putting on our heart. So the three blogs here and below are some samples of some recent readings. We hope they are helpful. We are planning on having Luke Davidson post these weekly so you can use them in your
personal worship. Blessings!

Psalm 68: 4-6

Sing to God, sing praise to his name,

extol him who rides on the clouds —
His name is the LORD— and rejoice before him.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,

he leads forth the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

Corporate Confession
Gracious Father, my sin is too heavy to carry, I cannot hide it, I cannot get rid of it. I know you see it, yet I am afraid to name it. My heart is exhausted from bearing it.

Give me relief from the sin I cannot carry, I am weary of hiding, I cannot get rid of, and I am afraid to even talk about. Give me the rest that I know is only found in You. Give me a heart that longs to worship You and only You.
